Equal parts devastating and renewing. I loved that there was a romantic aspect between Elsie and Ben (which is expected), but that there is also a relationship between Elsie and Susan. At the core of the novel is a childless mother finding a motherless child and it is beautiful. I cannot wait to see how this translates to the adaptation on Netflix. Another winner Taylor Jenkins Reid.
