A Guide To Living With & Training A Fearful Dog by Debbie Jacobs
informative
fast-paced
2.5
As an introductory read this book works fine. It references a lot of other works that provide more details.
However, there is a way larger focus on medication than I would have liked. The book basically starts and ends with it. Talking about euthanising fearful dogs on one of the first pages was a little intense as well. I feel like it would have been fitting to describe a few common triggers for fearful dogs and how to deal with them, most of the book felt like an introduction to a book about fearful dogs.
I also have a problem with the amount of parallels that are drawn between raising a kid and training a dog. Definitely not the same.
Also stop hating on my boy Cesar Millan :(
