jesus what a read. george's diary was my favourite part of this book. the voice cooper captured in those segments is so dead honest and gutting. the structure of the whole book is so brilliant and so implicating. by keeping us mostly on the outside of george's head he makes us as guilty of trying to characterize george as any of the guys who fucked him. references to wharton and wilde build up this heavy gothic overtone that adds a level of sick class to it. i will now be reading the next four books promptly.
