I try not to be a hater but this one really took the life out of me. I’ll take some ownership because I read the blurb about it and was fully uninterested. I have zero interest in games, gaming or programming so when this was getting stellar reviews I went against my gut instinct and picked it up hoping to be blown away and sadly I was not. I disliked just about every character and the read through was choppy and stagnant with the peaks of the story being lack luster in my opinion. The positive thing I will say is the actual constructing of the story was beautiful. The writing was delicious it’s a shame I didn’t care for the plot or character at all. I think this one just wasn’t for me and that’s okay but I also needed to document my torment through this 400 page volume.
