I'm having a hard time trying to review this. It certainly wasn't plot-driven, you could literally pick the book up in a random place and know what was going on. Though, it was somewhat enjoyable, it still seemed meh. In my opinion, all the characters expect Lisel and Josef were unnecessary, the Wild Hunt just seemed pointless and irrelevant to the story., especially the Count and Countess. The relationships in the first was practically nonexistent in this book. The Goblin King wasn't really in this book until the very end which was a huge disappointment and his romance with Lisel was completely skipped over.

Of course, it wasn't all bad. I felt like the mental health was written well in the book. The aftermath of the Goblin King and the Underground clearly triggered her mania and it was nice to see that it wasn't glossed over.

If this book had been cut in half and with a decent plot, then my rating would've definitely been higher.

”Once there was a little girl who played her music for a little boy in the woods. She was an innkeeper’s daughter and he was the Lord of Mischief, but neither were wholly what they seemed, for nothing is as simple as a fairy tale.”
