Overall this book was pretty average, I found the characters to be rather flat but like most of the other reviews state, the twist and truth of it all was it's sole redeemer.
I also found myself enamoured with the body horror aspects, I found that forest decay, and carrion flowers growing from death and wounds to be rather beautiful and unnerving at the same time. A lot of horror doesn't manage to tie in artistic, gruesome beauty together like that and I really appreciated it.
Edit: the more I talk and think about this book and it's artful take on horror and putting the relationship of the sisters in a different perspective, being an oldest child that would also do ANYTHING for my younger sibling, it makes the characters a lot more interesting and sympathetic for me. I'd genuinely recommend this to anyone that likes both YA and Horror.
