Predator's Gold by Philip Reeve
5.0
I really enjoyed this continuation of the first book. I think that the characters stayed consistent and the plot line was interesting. As with the first book, the big draw for me is that none of the characters are really lovable - they all have flaws. In this, we see a character change in Hester, who is finally forced to admit that her downfall is caring too much, rather than too little as in the first book. And Tom, who tries to be the hero, is not above temptation when it is thrown across his plate. I enjoyed the change of scenery, the new characters, and the ending satisfies any fangirl's dream. Looking forwards to the next book!
