The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic by Linsey Hall

4.0

This one was so cozy!! Like I want it to be a Halloween movie asap that I can watch every fall! I loved the small town that our FMC goes back to after being away for years, I love how we see her start out with not really understanding trusting or handling her self or magic but as the story goes on she really comes into her own with the help of everyone around her and the town. She is in a competition with our witches from her community to win over the local magical garden, she really doesn’t think she will win it but knows what damage to her grandmothers store and the town this Garden can do in the wrong hands and it wont be easy. She has to use magic she doesn’t trust, old highschool bullies and a man who she has hated for years. But she doesn’t exactly find a enemy in that guy she hated for years and they end up working together through most of it and with his help she really shines and learns about her self. The adventures they went on during this quest where so fun to read and I loved her familiar badger and her granny! I am sad the next book isn’t about her best friend tabitha! But am holding out for a story for her! If you’re looking for a cozy magic enemies to lovers, with a fun quest this fall pick this one up!
