A Writer at War: Vasily Grossman with the Red Army by Vasily Grossman

3.0

While this was really good, it is NOT a book BY Vasily Grossman, it is a biography OF Vasily Grossman by Antony Beevor. My biggest complaint is that it was often difficult to tell whether I was reading Grossman's notes and articles or Beevor's commentary. Grossman's writing is in such small snippets. The complete pieces, such as the Hell of Treblinka, are great. They are also available in other collections that are ALL Grossman, like "The Road".
