The Marx Sisters by Barry Maitland
4.0
I really enjoyed this police procedural murder mystery. Because it was split into two parts (six months of the story separating each section), it felt as though I'd finished two books. Sometimes, if the story or the writing--or both--isn't up to par, reading two books for the price of one isn't a good thing; luckily, I was thrilled about it. The characters are flawed and quite likable, and the murders were down-to-earth and realistic, yet quite suspenseful. It's the first in a series (I've already got the second book [thanks Angie!:]), and I'm looking forward to reading more of these.
