Though explanations are sparse and vague in this book, the substance of it is incredible. Vo manages to create a world where the ‘why’ and ‘how’ seem almost unimportant; what’s more pressing throughout is finding out where Jordan’s story will take her. Vo’s writing is absolutely hypnotic.
