An absolute delight! Because it’s so short, my expectations were not too high, but this book knocked it out of the park! It’s short, but packed with action, adventure, extra steamy spice, and an adorable love story. Not to mention, the most badass heroine I have read thus far! Basically, our FMC is a rough and tough guard for her small group of humans that are residing in orc territory. We get fighting scenes right away, and a chance meeting with our sexy orc MMC. The good kind of chaos ensues! Also, the FMC is the domme and it’s super HOT. He’s a big, strong chief orc, but when they’re alone, he can’t say no to her 🥵
Much like the characters, the world building is also fantastic. It’s a historical fantasy; however, the characters talk in a more modern dialogue. The orcs and humans speak the same language, which helps the pacing move a bit faster.
Here are some tropes for ya if I haven’t convinced you yet:
💚 Forbidden love monster & human romance
⚔️ Sassy badass warrior FMC
🫖 Protective teddy bear MMC
💚 He falls first, and hard
⚔️ touch her/him and die tag team
💚 HEA
