The visuals this story created in my mind blew me away. Someone let me know what the closest real world experience to the City of Starlight would be so I can can put it on my bucket list.

SJM has a talent for shattering heart at the end of her books and this one was no exception. I was doing so well emotionally until that ending hit me.

P.S. Did I almost rate this 5 stars only because I’m a whore for soulmate AUs? Yes. Almost.

Let’s discuss characters!

Tamlin:

I feel I can’t talk about this book without talking about him. As I stated in my original review, I never trusted him from the beginning and this book certainly made my hatred for him grow. However, this quote really describes him. He’s become obsessive towards Feyre to an unhealthy extent. He’s broken. I can’t help but understand how he has gotten to this point, but instead of dealing with his problems, he let them overtake him completely until he became this.

Feyre:

β€œπ’€π’π’– 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒐𝒏𝒆’𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕”

Her character development was slow and steady, but stellar. She overcomes so many of her inner demons as the story progresses.

Rhysand:

β€œπ‘Ήπ’‰π’šπ’”π’‚π’π’… π’Šπ’” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’Žπ’π’”π’• π’‰π’‚π’π’…π’”π’π’Žπ’† π‘―π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰ 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅.”
β€œπ‘Ήπ’‰π’šπ’”π’‚π’π’… π’Šπ’” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’Žπ’π’”π’• π’…π’†π’π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰π’•π’‡π’–π’ π‘―π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰ 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅.”
β€œπ‘Ήπ’‰π’šπ’”π’‚π’π’… π’Šπ’” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’Žπ’π’”π’• π’„π’–π’π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ π‘―π’Šπ’ˆπ’‰ 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅.”

WHY IS HIS CHARACTER SO GOOD? His backstory only cemented my love for him. And the REVEAL. Oh gosh, it had my heart coming out of my chest like a cartoon character. Even after everything he has done for his people, he still struggles to believe he deserves happiness. I’m obsessed with him.

Etc:

Cassian, Azriel, Mor, & Amren could have a whole book to themselves and I would read it.

Nesta is a bad bitch and I love her.

I can’t wait to read more of Lucien in the next book.

The hinting of Cassian x Nesta and Lucien x Elain had me hanging on for dear life. Give me more.

Now onto ACOWAR!
