On paper this is like, the perfect book for me. Unfortunately the writing was so unpolished and clunky I just couldn’t finish it. The dialogue was like bad fan fiction, the emotions of every character were so inexplicably all over the place, and the conflict with the townspeople was so ridiculously contrived.
