March: Book Two by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin
5.0
Book two of John Lewis' graphic memoir March takes us through his time as a Freedom Rider and as Chairman of SNCC, including the speech he gave at the March on Washington. The tone of the art adds incredible emotional depth and helps hit home how incredibly important Lewis' story is to American history, and how lessons must be drawn for today's society. It's a heavy but truly important read and I'd highly recommend it not just for adults but also teens.
Having finished Book Two I'm hungry for the third instalment in the trilogy.
