This is gone to the top of my best reads of 2024 and what a way to end the year .
It was such a lovely yet emotional story Noah was so broken after losing Joel and it wasn’t helped by their so called friends saying stupid things which I know Robin Knight got correct as I had the same when I lost my husband. Noel went to find Lovesong Valentin for one reason only to blame him for Joel’s death but he wasn’t expecting to be captivated by Lovesong after only a few hours. Lovesong hadn’t had an easy life due to his blindness but he didn’t let it hold him back and he strived to be the best musician he could and he was remarkable . It doesn’t take long for Noah to find out the truth surrounding Lovesong’s birth and in turn it puts both of them in danger from those who should have been protecting Lovesong.
I loved the folklore you often find in books that are in the Bayous and the people are just so friendly but superstitious and I laughed a few times at some of their sayings. I’ve had the paperback of A Boy Called Rainbow since it released and now I need to make it my first read of 2025 and if it’s half as good a Lovesong Robin has got a new reader because I’ll be devouring all their work.
