It took me so long to get through this, even in audio form. I’m just… I don’t know. I’ve enjoyed this author’s books in the past, but this one was just rough. I think Henri is an extremely annoying MC, which most likely (definitely?) colored my opinion of the book as a whole.

I honestly don’t have any real notes about this, just that this could have been so good, but ended up a disappointment. In the author’s other novels, even if I didn’t enjoy the actual story, the sex scenes would have been able to save it, but I just didn’t enjoy any aspect. I might go back, possibly, and try to highlight and annotate, but I kept stopping and restarting so often, I just didn’t this time.

I did enjoy Michael Dean’s narration; he’ll always get five stars.
