A really great examination of the prison system and its failures. Although Davis focuses on the U.S., the global prison industry is mentioned which provides good support for the arguments of prison abolition. This is definitely a nice and succinct history of prisons and their abusive nature. I also really enjoyed Davis’ perspective on gender and prisons because it’s not something I’ve through about before. Everyone should give this a go!
