Of Blood and Fire by Ryan Cahill

4.0

It's Rated R Eragon

My thoughts on Of Blood and Fire, book 1 of The Bound and the Broken relfect and mirror my thoughts Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's not really original, but still pretty good, as the thing it's based on, is also very good.

In fact, I would go as far to say, that really nothing in this book is original. Everything from Of Fire and Blood is either from Christopher Paloni's Eragon, or John Gwynne's Faithful and the Fallen, with some inspiration from Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive.

However, I think one very important aspect of this book, and the reason it's rated so high, is the sheer amount of Nostalgia Of Blood and Fire imparts. Every page of this book made me feel like a child again, despite the tremendous amount of intense violence inside. Violence and action that Ryan Cahill does a very good of writing.

I had a really fun time with this book, and can't wait to see what's in store.
