Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese

I will fully admit that I was so late to the Bergman Brothers game! However, after seeing multiple people post about them online and be pumped for the new one releasing in May, and because one of my fave new authors and all around enjoyable person Mazey Eddings is bffs with Chloe Liese, I figured I should jump on that train. Let me tell you: better late than never! I loved the first book and will continue raving about the others down below, but first, let me rave about this: Chloe's careful attention to disability inclusion/rep is everything I want it to be. I read the updated version of this book, which Chloe partially rewrote after learning from those in the late-deafened community that her MC's experience wasn't as authentic as it could be. Ryder contracted bacterial meningitis during his early days of college bad left him with complete and partial hearing loss in his ears. At the start of the story, he's been dealing with it for a while now and has become very isolated intentionally. His professor makes him and Willow, one of the college's soccer stars who is failing the class while also dealing with her mother's illness, work together even though they don't really like each other to start. You should read it to find out what happens as they get to know each other and deal with their own situations. Also, Chloe is very good at including an author note at the start with any content warnings, etc., so read those as needed.

Reread: Ah, the inaugural Bergman book. I loved it when I first read it in April and here I am reading it again in June. Acquired disability rep, family loss and grief, and a fantastic annoyances to lovers / forced proximity romance. Excellent banter, steamy scenes, and hilarious character moments. What else could I want?!

Reread #4: My goodness, I love this series! Literally nothing new to say except it gets better every single time, I always laugh and cry, and swoon.
