Mary, who lives in a small village in the middle of the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Her village is surrounded by a fence that keeps the Unconsecrated out. One day when the fence is breached everything changes and Mary's life is thrown into turmoil as she struggles to survive outside of the safety of her village.

I really enjoyed this book. It started out a little slow for me, but soon I got sucked right in and just could not put it down! There is so much action that keeps the book steadily moving towards its end. Although the end is not much of a surprise, but a lot of the events beforehand really caught be off guard. I really loved this book and recommend it!
