Forgotten Desires by Corinne Michaels

4.0

Forgotten Desires is the fourth and final book in the Whitlock Family series, and it’s Brynlee’s story. I’ve loved Brynlee since book 1 and had very much been looking forward to this one, and it delivered.

Brynlee and Carson (Crew) meet during college Spring Break and fall for each other hard and fast, until Crew disappears from Brynlee’s life. Ten years later they run into each other at Brynlee’s brother’s wedding, both still harbouring feelings for each other.

I walked away from her because I thought I had no choice. I gave her up to save her from a life she wouldn’t have wanted. All of that didn’t matter when it came to how I felt, though. How I fucking missed her smile, the sound of her laugh, the way she’d plaster herself to me as though she could fill every gap in my heart the closer she was.

Billionaire Crew is trying to gain full custody of his daughter, Layla, and Brynlee needs support for her surgery where she’ll be donating portion of her liver to her dad. Hello, Marriage of Convenience!

I adored this book and it was a lovely end to a lovely series. Corinne truly served with the tropes promised and they were done to perfection. This was beautifully written second chance romance, that perfectly balanced the present story as well as their past.

As mentioned, I’ve loved Brynlee since book 1 and this was her time to shine, and that she did. She is so selfless, loving and caring, and goes above and beyond for everyone, including animals in need of rescuing. Her relationship with her brothers, sisters-in-law and niece, Olivia, moments I always love reading (I just especially love any scenes with Olivia and/or Phoebe). Brynlee’s growing bond with Layla, Crew’s adorable daughter, was also a joy to read.

Crew is wonderful, and he complements Brynlee’s character so well. His love for his daughter was everything and I adored their relationship. His love for Brynlee was evident throughout with not only words, but actions too. Not to mention he also has tattoos in honour of his two favourite girls.

Brynlee and Crew’s chemistry was top tier, the tension between them palpable. There was a perfect balance of sweet, tender and spicy moments.

Her lips touch mine, soft and sweet. I let her kiss me, seducing me even though she doesn’t have to try. I’ve been under her spell since the day I met her.
