Poetry: A Very Short Introduction by Bernard O'Donoghue

I didn't know what to expect when reading this but it is a full fledge intro into the study of poetry. Its' not all that accessible unless you already have a basic understanding of how to study poetry, which I wouldn't say I did even after coming out of AP English in high school, but it's been a few years. I started reading poetry for fun because I was like "whats all the hullabaloo?" and I like it now but this made me realize I don't give poems a full in depth analysis. Sometimes a poem is so good I read it twice or thrice over before closing the book or going to the next page but I hardly look THIS much into a poem, and this is only a very short introduction! Wow. So cool! I love literature!
Moderate: Racism
I put racism because the author explains that his analysis of poetry is very much from a white/Western lens, Chinese poetry is mentioned but not analyzed as much and pre-colonial and poetry from people of color is often over looked. At least he acknowledged it but I'm keeping the tag!
