The Alibi Girl by C.J. Skuse
5.0
After the Sweet Pea series; picked up this.
If you are someone that wants to get a taste of this author’s writing, this will be the book that you start with. It’s unlike Sweet Pea, as its more tame and soft in terms of the swear words usage and sarcasm. If you have started with Sweet Pea like me; you will be in for a surprise. (A sweet surprise of course)
What I like about this book is that there are flashbacks about the main lead. This allows me to connect the dots bit by bit. And sort of keep me guessing what’s going to happen next. However, the author really like to tease; by keeping me at the edge.
This book also revolves around the bond between siblings; and father-daughter relationship. I really liked the way author weaved these relationship and presented the story.
Coming to the ending of this book. The author had brilliantly left us to figure out how it shall end. Although its a bit frustrating as a reader; but it sort of gives me autonomy to pick and imagine how i may want this story to end. Isn’t that brilliant?
I would totally recommend to pick this book up soon if you are yet to do so.
