The Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo
5.0
To be honest I enjoyed this a lot more than the “Shadow and Bone” trilogy. The writing was a lot smoother and the story was captivating from the first page.
This short story also made The Darkling make more sense, I understood him more and his motives more. I’m not a hundred percent sure if this book made him kinder or even worse as a person. Somehow what he did in “Shadow and Bone” makes more sense but at the same time using Alina to get more power himself seems even more cruel as he himself almost got killed to become an amplifier.
All in all this was an amazing read and I enjoyed getting to know The Darkling and Baghra more.
