The Women by Kristin Hannah
5.0
This is the first historical fiction book I’ve read in, like, 2 years… and I LOVED IT. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Julia Whelan, who was flawless as always. The story focuses on a girl who volunteers to be a nurse in wartime Vietnam, and let me tell you this book will rip your heart out. Every time you think Frankie has hit rock bottom, nope, there’s a new level of low. I cried, I smiled, and my heart broke about a million times, but I absolutely loved it and haven’t stopped thinking about this book since I finished it a few weeks ago.
Even if you’re not typically a historical fiction reader, but you’re looking for a book with…
✨Powerful friendships and romance
✨Discussions about mental health, race, and gender equality
✨A unique viewpoint about an important time in history
✨A story of immense courage and heartbreak
… then I would highly recommend adding this book to your TBR!
