This book was a pretty great survival story, and very enthralling. But, if you want to read this book because of the revenge aspect, you're going to be disappointed. The way it was told in the beginning, before and after, felt kinda odd to me. It was just a bunch of backstory that was not necessary to enjoy the book. Also, that part was told as Jess journaling, and the rest of it wasn't... So, as great as the survival aspect was, the other parts drag it down to three stars for me.
