I have a major crush on Andrés.
I also really like the way this book tackled the theme of female survival under the patriarchy, especially during times as uncertain as post-war. However, nothing about the horror plot really surprised me or shocked me or wowed me. This is a haunted house story with a “plot twist” that you see from a mile away. Still, I had a lot of fun reading it. The writing style was very accessible yet impactful.
