This is a tough one to review, as I’m left quite speechless. The way Ocean Vuong’s mind works is quite incredible, and I don’t always manage to wrap my head around it. My words betray me in trying to explain this book, but I /felt/ it. The things that are shared through this story are so raw and vulnerable that it could sometimes feel unbearable to be witness to. There was a deep ache, a distance which was never closed, a lump in the throat. That’s all the review I manage to squeeze out atm, maybe I can say something more articulate after some processing time.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by the author while reading the physical book, which felt like the perfect way to experience it.
