A Family in Brussels by Chantal Akerman

2.0

Akerman really was lost in the darkness of her inescapable humiliation kink for her mother, huh? Completely and utterly made the death of her. I suppose it plagues all "funny" little women of arts and letters to a certain degree, but I never conceived what Akerman's filmic gaze might look like when applied to her own biography. This was an claustrophobic, agonizing, and informative read.
