Elemental Affections by Jaime Ryanne
4.0
I enjoyed this cosy fantasy romance set in an academia setting. It had a slow burn second chance romance filled with a lot of drama, and portrayed a realistic experience between their reconnection, student/professor conflicts of interest, and concerns about working closely together.
I liked that they were both mature characters too, and their passion for working together to find cures for the poison crisis. I also liked their sass and banter, and the will they won't they chemistry.
They both have elements of naivety and stubbornness, but they bring out the best in each other and help save each other when needed.
I also loved that Ana stood up for herself and went for what she wanted even with her family's disapproval and her exes toxic interference.
The magic system was enjoyable, there was a good amount of tension and drama, and a few scenes of spice too. Although there is still more to come in the series, this story wraps up nicely.
