The Fire This Time: A New Generation Speaks about Race by Jesmyn Ward

hopeful informative reflective slow-paced

My brain is too small to write a compelling review of this book. Do I theoretically have enough brain cells to write more eloquently about this book? Yes. But I would rather just tell you, "Go pick this up!"

The writing in this collection of essays and poems was just phenomenal. The fact that so much of what the authors talk about still applies to this very moment is heartbreaking and angering. We truly have seen multiple times outcries of how racist systems in the U.S. are, especially policing, and yet the problem persists. It's enough to make anyone pissed off.

Just. Read this. It is 100% worth it.
