Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover
5.0
I have been seeing all the hype on #coho novels. Hence, decided to jump on the bandwagon and read this. And why did I wait so longggg to joinnnn! My goodness; the author’s writing is simple yet profound.
The book started all right. However, as the plot thickens, I realise my eyes were becoming watery as well. What kind of sorcery is this?? For me, I felt the author attempted to show mothers, are just humans like any one of us. They too, can make mistakes and have imperfections. It’s not all rosy or put together as it seems to be.
I really loved the tension between the two main leads. The longing for companionship; yet the insecurities that each has, just makes the readers like me to continue indulging in this book.
Do you believe in second chances? Do you yearn for redemption? Your past haunts you? Read this and be comforted.
Something from the book which may serve as a reminder for all of us:
‘…….happiness isn’t some permanent things we’re all trying to achieve in life, it’s merely a thing that shows up every now and then, sometimes in tiny doses that are just substantial enough to keep us going.’
Another one that I love:
‘…..religion is a social construct created by societies who wanted to regulate their people, which makes heaven a concept.’
