This was a decent debut! It took me a minute to get into but once I did I liked it enough. I like the folklore aspect and I like the duality of the characters. I think the magic system was a bit lacking and the world-building felt forced a bit, so it felt more of a character driven story with some magic thrown about. But overall a decent one I’d be happy to have on my shelf.
