This is not the first time I’m reading this book. This time though, I’m a bit more prepared and informed to deal with all the Christian aspects of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed Lori Wick’s writing and her transitions and prose never sounds awkward. She’s so good at keeping the me engaged with the story and making me connect with her characters. The story is simple and not over dramatic but the lovely and flawed characters kept me rooting for them throughout.

I am not religious by any means and while reading this book I tried to keep my mind open to seeing how devoted characters use faith in their lives. To me it’s so foreign and at times I found myself thinking how weird it all is. But one thing is for sure, I understood a little better how people do this and why they feel so strongly about God in their lives. Personally I don’t think I’ll ever be this devoted nor can I be but I at least can appreciate and understand when I’m speaking to someone that is pious.

Despite it all, I really loved how she showed the two of them falling in love and sticking with their commitments. A very beautiful love story really.
