DNFed this one at 56%. Never have I read something so thoroughly dense and unpleasant. This is my second go at this book, which should be exactly the kinda thing I like, but is in fact intolerable. I really, really wanted to like it, but I just can't. I actually like the characters quite a bit, they're exactly my type, but the writing style is so, for lack of a better word, wordy that I couldn't even focus. It's a blur, is what this book is: A boring series of settings and situations that buzz by without making any impression save that they are, in fact, boring.
