Twisted Fairytales by Brittany Anne, C. L. McGrath, Pe Kavanagh
5.0
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Twisted Fairytales. Below you will find my honest review.
Overall 4.75 stars; rounded up to 5.
The authors did an amazing job making the stories their own and getting creative! They were true to the romance genre; everyone got their happy ending, just like a real fairytale! Read on for my reviews for each story individually.
Beauty and the biker by Brittany Anne
4.5 stars
I love how descriptive and detailed Brittany was, it really brought the story to life; especially the sex scenes! I loved that you built a relationship and story line that didn’t seem too fast paced. I would’ve liked for the sex scenes to flow a little more but overall I really liked it! It was cute and funny and had some awesome lines in it; I highlighted quite a few of them.
Sweet Taboo by Zara M. Baily
5 stars
I loved how deep into the world of candy and sugar you delved; their families’ business, the illness the evil stepmother had, the play on their names, the post card, etc. those little details made the story perfect! Their love was beautiful to witness! They were willing to do whatever it took to keep their family safe and protected!
Little Mermaid by PE Kavanagh
5 stars
I can honestly say I read things that in my 13 years reading romance that I’ve never read before; mermaid pleasuring time, etc., and you have a very creative mind! True to the blurb the Prince was a very interesting twist! You write amazing sex scenes!
Big Bad Wolf by R.L. Kenderson
5 stars
Another blurb true to to the story. Scarlet did see Wulf again and it was definitely meant to be with a little match making from grandma. Gotta love grandmas! Wulf is the perfect alpha male; gruff, and sexy, with a sweet side. I love the way you wove the fairytale into the story; the ringtone, the names, it was all very punny/funny. The not so perfect sex the first time was so realistic and true to life. It was refreshing to read a relatable and realistic moment. I loved this story!
Finally Satisfied by S. Louise
4 stars
S. Louise was not lying in the blurb when saying it was “over the top insta love.” It was even more insta love than Alexa Riley books and if you’ve read them that’s saying something. While it was a little too insta love and unrealistic for me, that was the goal so I gave it 4 stars for hitting the mark!
Snow White by C.L. McGrath
5 stars
I loved this story! The aspects of the fairytale were very present but it was almost like reading a regular contemporary romance. Very modern and cute! The relationships between Neve and the men in her life was so fun to watch! I was happy that my hunch on who her lawyer was turned out to be right! As a social worker the homelessness situation was refreshing to read. It means we are one step closer to that no longer being a stigma and people getting the help they need and the public being educated on what exactly that means. Neve and Luke were hot together! I loved that the evil Katherine got what she deserved and so did Neve and Luke!
The Ugly Duckling in Disguise by Annabeth Saryu
5 stars
I loved this story! Addressing the issues that the gaming world face was amazing! I loved that he ultimately pushed her to be her true authentic self even if it was in a moment of heartache. Watching them work through that and come back together was so beautiful!
