This book is really special in that I got both the physical copy and the audiobook because I had heard such great things about the audio. The full cast and hiring actual actors to play the characters made such a difference in the storytelling. The book itself is unreadable, and I usually LOVE epistolary novels but I know I wouldn’t have been able to follow the story if I only read the physical book full of (admittedly, very creative) notes, interviews, and diagrams. The audio, however, made the plot so clear to follow, even when unexpected twists were happening. I really loved this story and I think it’s such a good book to intro a kid/teenager into science fiction. I wish I was still teaching because I’d definitely recommend it to my 8th graders.
