The Dance of Reality: A Psychomagical Autobiography by Alejandro Jodorowsky
4.0
A definite trip. Artfully written, though definitely requires reader to suspend disbelief and make room for magical thinking - the beauty of the book is that "fact" did not matter so much (at least to me - I am sure many people would question the validity of many of the claims, experiences, theories shared) - reading it gave way to a resonant *feeling* of being near something magical and divine, and for that I really enjoyed it. Jodorowsky manages to be himself on the page, which is a feat, given the linear "limits" of language and what he is known as a creative in other mediums. Four stars only because at times, he skipped over parts of the story that I would have liked him to go deeper on, and often by writing it too "matter-of-factly," as if I should already know what he's thinking - in the end, i can't take all facts at face value without deeper context, regardless of how much of its truth I want to accept.
