Sunshine is by far one of my favourite vampire novels and I was pretty happy that this was one of my first experiences with the fangy sub-genre. Although it did have its faults I was happy with the end product. I really loved that Sunshine took itself seriously. So often vampires end up coming across as a bit of a joke, regardless if that was the authors intention or not. In Sunshine I felt like the mythology was well handled. I also really loved how the romance elements didn't overpower the whole story. The more I read, the more I loved it.
