A cosy, entertaining read. I enjoyed the moments in the garden, setting up the shop and how the lore around spell casting was handled. But it was too much ‘tell don’t show’ and reiterating on things we already know to have me completely enjoying it. I could relate in some part to the main character, but for me the focus was too much on some parts of her personality, while I couldn’t understand where they were coming from. You get to see and hear much from her and at the same time she didn’t feel completely fleshed out.

At the same time some parts really made me smile. This book really is like a cinnamon bun in several parts.
