Yasmina Khadra is one of my favorite authors. Reading this book makes me wonder why we invaded Iraq in the first place. To see the war through the eyes of the Iraqi people and we wonder why they hate us so much. I highly recommend this book and the trilogy starting with The Swallows of Kabul, The Attack and The Sirens of Baghdad.
