Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don't Know by Adam M. Grant

emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring lighthearted reflective fast-paced

5.0

My second book to get the Required Reading tag, mainly for 2 reasons: 1) It is very accessible. The ideas are communicated clearly and in a fun way without being dumbed down. 2) The positive impact that learning how to “Think Again” can potentially have for both individuals and society is too large not to try.

What better way to learn how to win debates or change people’s minds than studying the people that have done so successfully? Grant has spent a lot of time doing exactly that. Not only has he elicited the keys to these people’s successes, but he’s been able to apply them to nearly every aspect of life. Hell, he even convinces Yankees fans to root for the Red Sox.
“Think Again” is split into four sections: Individual rethinking, Interpersonal rethinking, Communal rethinking, and a conclusion in which Grant shows how to apply the material to your life to hopefully make it better. He believes that open-mindedness can be taught, and this book shows the way. Throughout my reading I could not help but imagine how much better the world could be if more of us could follow this advice. IT’s more than worth your time.
