Barking up the Wrong Tree by Elsie Woods

4.0

This Alli and Terence's Story. A best friends to lovers trope in the friends at the doggy spa series. Like the other stories, it's warm and fuzzy, cute and will make you giggle. It is preferable to enjoy all the stories in this series but it can also be read as a stand alone, it's just that if you like one, you will most certainly want to read all of them!

Alli and Terence are two life-long friends that have opposite personalities, but they match very well together. Alli is enthousiast and a bit clumsy, she dives into things and might get hurt by it, something Terrence worries about a lot. Especially because he can't be there for her always even though he tries. He works at the doggy spa and thinks everything through and plans everything carefully. They start to have feelings for eachother and when Alli realises it's much more than friendship, she turns cautious, afraid to jeopardize their friendship, but when Kasia asks Terrence out to dinner and clearly has interest in him, Alli has to step up and say something or she might lose him.

This is another great addition to the doggy spa series that I have enjoyed a lot. Ranger, the border collie, is the cutest and will make you giggle all the time. Even though I thought the nicknames that Allie and Terrence use for eachother are super childish, I did root for them and loved how they grew closer and loved to read how their story was told. Elsie Woods has great way of telling stories. It's light, humourous and full of cuteness and happiness. You will keep coming back for more.
