5.0

  • Great vocab (palimpsest, apocryphal, weltschmertz)
  • I love the allusions to their future; it feels like an offered comfort to get us through their present-day struggles
  • Beautiful and immersive writing; engaging story. I loved unraveling Sam's mystery
  • Marx's chapter BROKE ME. Extremely well done, I sobbed the whole time
  • Loved the POV switch to "Pioneers"
  • Not a happy ending, but a realistic one with a touch of hope
  • Dong's chapter also affected me deeply, and I hope he gave Sadie DK as a final push for Sam to get in contact with her again (like the Bat Mitzvah gift)
  • #211 in weddings was super sweet
