Recipe for a Charmed Life by Rachel Linden

5.0

“Faith, hope, love, and luck- the recipe for a charmed life.”

These are the words Georgia’s mother leaves with her along with a four leaf clover necklace, before disappearing for good. In the decades that follow, Georgia makes a name for herself, following her dream of cooking in Paris. Just like her hero, Julia Child, whose voice she can practically hear in her head. And she’s got almost everything. A sexy chef boyfriend, the position she’s scraped and saved for, the promotion within her grip, a glamorous life away from her father’s ranch.

But when she catches her boyfriend in a compromising position, Georgia loses everything in one fell swoop. Her job, her relationship, and most importantly, her sense of taste. Receiving an email from her estranged mother, she decides to set everything aside and pay her a visit on the island Star claims has its own magic. She wasn’t prepared for the broody oyster farmer next door, however….and the secrets both he and her mother seem to be hiding.

This book was absolutely enchanting! The descriptions of food and the slight, realistic magic touch were incredible and vivid! Best of all- no spice scenes there to ruin my day and wilt my crops!
