My soft heart🥹
Ok why this took me so long idk, it’s definitely a different set up and pacing than Pestilence but still intriguing. Everytime Miriam tried running or injuring War I was like ma’am clearly this isn’t gonna work but I do love her persistence🤣 and the whole surrending on both accounts was heart warming. It’s been a min since I read book 1, but War definitely gives big bro vibes. And I love his unknowing love for Miriam, it’s a sense of “wife” is more than just a term to throw around, there’s meaning and depth behind it. And as usual the deconstruction of certain things and thought processes is always refreshing to read. I did gasp…I did at the end….that part!!! I was like nope nope nope this isn’t how it’s supposed to go!! But it wrapped up and ended well and we jumped forward quite a bit for book 3!!
