Another Rainbow Rowell book, yay! This has been on my shelf for quite a while now and I never really wanted to pick it up because it's kind of huge and seemed intimidating to me but Melissa told me to read it and well, I really enjoyed it! However I couldn't give it 5 stars because I always felt like something's missing. I guess I just expected too much? I kept thinking about some major plot twists that could have happened or a totally emotional scene but there was nothing like that.

Cather Avery is a great character! She sometimes reminded me of myself - I used to read a lot of fanfiction and even wrote some myself and the whole anxiety thing and not liking to meet new people is completely me. She seems shy and quiet although she clearly isn't and I guess I liked that a lot - there are many different sides of her and all of them together make her an admirable personality. In the beginning I wasn't really fond of her because of the whole twin thing and I'm actually really glad that her sister, Wren, decided it's time to separate a bit. I think that helped her a lot in the end and thanks to everything she had to go through alone (or well, with her new friends then) it only made her stronger.

Speaking of friends, I really enjoyed Reagan and loved their relationship right from the beginning! At first it seemed like they wouldn't get along well but they grew on each other and because they're so different, I think, they complement each other perfectly! And then there's Levi ... the sweet, ever-happy Levi with his hair. When I think about him the first word that comes to my mind is: Cheshire cat. He's constantly smiling or grinning or whatever, he's just always happy. Now don't get me wrong, I really liked Levi and how much he cared for Cath and that he was always there for her when she needed him (and even when she didn't) and I'm so thankful for her to have someone like him by her side but he got on my nerves sometimes. There, I said it. I wanted to upset him or be mean to him just to see another reaction and everytime Cath did something like that I wanted it! And then again I didn't. I liked his happy attitude but then again not. Not always. He kind of frustrates me.

As you can probably guess from the title there's a lot of talk about fanfiction and all that but I didn't expect to read something about the one Cath was writing. I was tempted to just skip these parts or briefly skim through them but in the end I enjoyed them - mostly the parts from Carry On, Cath's story - and was actually looking forward to finding out what happens next. What bothered me a bit was that it reminds of Harry Potter and I constantly pictured Harry and Draco while reading it, oh well.

I have to admit that I didn't like it as much as "Eleanor & Park" but Rainbow Rowell is amazingly talented and it's a great book with awesome characters, I just expected a bit more of everything. It's still really good and I'm glad finally I read it! Now excuse me while I check out lots of amazing fanart (seriously, just google it - so many talented people!). :D
