I liked the first book enough to read the second, but jumping in it was already choppy and I disliked the male character so much I couldn’t continue. I understand the enemies to livers trope, but neither character was interesting to me and I felt like the story began with Iris & Declan too quickly without building into their characters. I knew how it would eventually play out, and didn’t like either of them enough to stick it out.
