Gorgeous artwork and a moving story with well-developed characters. It is refreshing to have a book with Black characters that is not historical or issue oriented. Kids 3rd-6th grade who like graphic novels by Raina Telgemeier should definitely read this. Also parents who think that graphic novels don't have any substance!
